Covid 19 in Nepal

Latest Spread of COVID-19 is 'Worrying'

Nepal is one of the developing country in the word with the population of 28.1 million population and the density of 196 people on each 1 km square area.The world got the infection of Covid 19 so called Corona virus disease during the end of the year 2019 and the starting of 2020 AD, Nepal was in the verge suffering from the diseases. As the news and information was shown about number of people suffering from the disease in the countries like China, Italy, USA, England, etc.
In the views of Nepali people the disease was known to be out broken from China with some fear hearing about the infected and the dead people.
There were some alerts and awareness among the Nepali people with the symptoms of the corona disease that last from 4 days to 14 days, like:

  • fever
  • tiredness
  • diarrhoea
  • dry cough
  • runny nose

From the sectors of health centers, media, and schools people were made aware about the complications of the diseases. People were much aware about;

  • wearing a mask while going outside,
  • wash their hands with soap and water frequently,
  • cover the mouth and nose while sneezing.
  • visit to doctors when the symptoms shows out,
  • they avoided unnecessary touching i.e,greeting by saying namastey to each others,
  • they were told to avoid gatherings and persona contacts,and
  • avoid harmful contacts with the pets and animals

 Accordingly the school curriculum and academic year were much hampered as;

  • the primary and secondary level were completed early with their final exams,
  • the Basic level examinations of Grade eight was interrupted,
  • the Secondary Education Examinations were stopped before the day of its start i.e. chaitra 6,
  • higher secondary levels were due to complete the ending board exams that was going to held on the, baisakh month of 2077 BS (Nepali date)
  • the university level educations were stopped in the mid-term levels.
The educational and all those gathering activities were stopped from the date Chaitra 6, 2076 BS, duly the lockdown started from the date Chaitra 11 of the year.
People were partially feared and partially in dilemma about what to do in the days. The people  with the money bought the food requirements like rice, oil, grains, and the necessaries to their stores. But what about the poor people who doesn't have he enough money when they have  no work to earn?There are lot more of the working class people in Nepalese people like;
  • daily wage worker
  • sales person
  • small business in public areas
  • working for other's households
Their moreover work depend on daily working and wage earning. When they don't work for the day their would be insufficient resources for them. And this unstable Government structure of the country has not able to provide right basis and the proper social securities for their living.Even the masks, sanitizers, soaps and requirements were shortage or raised in their price. In some cases they were hidden by the retailer to sale in maximum prices. The government took required actions on this issue.
Relief package may not be enough if Covid-19 crisis worsens, say ...The lockdown continues for days with leading the survival problems to poor and working class people. Government started to distribute relief funds to those wage earners and working class families. This including several kilos rice, potatoes,beaten rice litres of oil. and a piece of soap, sanitizer and masks in some extent. The procedure was to register the concerned family in the list collected by the local government operators. But due to the unstable and the corrupted concerned people there were some fraudulence leading to insufficiency, and poor quality rice (altered with sand and stones) may be some poor quality foods. Several cases were shown about this while many of the poor were ommited and the listed too were not provided withe the benefits.
Talking about the covid 19 positive cases, the first case was seen to a patient showing mild symptoms on 24th January 2020 AD, which was cured and said to be in self-quarantine at home.Then second case was found in Kathmandu on 23rd March. By the 24th April total number of positive cases reached  up to 48 positive cases while the total check up was 9200 people till now. And the death case is 0.
The districts with the positive cases are:
